Horseback. Heroes on Horseback is a nonprofit organization that aids physically and mentally disabled children and adults by enabling them to ride horses. The riding has a therapeutic affect upon the riders by making them move and forcing them to use muscles they don’t usually use. It also forces the riders to interact and communicate with the horse and volunteers. They perform various tasks such as placing objects into mailboxes, steering around barrels and poles, naming and carrying various objects, and much more.
